Silica insulating brick is made from silica or crystalline quartzite raw materials that contains more than 90% of SiO2. The bulk density of lightweight silica insulating brick is lower than 1.2g/cm3. Combustible materials such as coke, anthracite, saw powder, carbonized rice shell are added into batch material to make lightweight silica insulating brick, as they will burn during high temperature sintering and form porous structure. Another method to make lightweight silica brick is gas foaming method. mineralizers( CaO, Fe2O3) are use to contribute to the transformation of quartz. During the sintering of lightweight silica insulating bricks, strong oxidizing flame should be maintained to ensure the complete combustion of combustible materials.

Lightweight Silica Insulating Bricks Applications
Lightweight silica insulating bricks can be long term used at high temperature(1500~1550℃) condition, especially suitable for
the insulating of large size high temperature hot blast furnace silica brick working lining, as well as the insulating of glass kiln
silica brickwork. Lightweight silica insulating brick should not contact with molten slag. High quality silica insulating brick is mainly
used rolling steel heating furnace top and silicate industrial furnace top, etc, it can directly contact with flame. Ordinary silica insulating
brick is mainly used as insulating lining of industrial kilns and furnaces.
